A former staff assistant at Ben Lomond High School in Ogden was arrested Monday after investigators located a video allegedly showing her engaged in a sexual act with a student. According to a probable cause statement, America Karina Rubio, 21, was recorded at a home in Pleasant View in December 2023 with the juvenile. Rubio did not directly interact with the teen as part of her duties at the school, according to a statement from Ogden School District on Wednesday. The details of her responsibilities as a staff assistant were not disclosed. Police were alerted to the alleged sex abuse on March 5, a police affidavit states. During the investigation, a juvenile witness reported seeing a video of Rubio and the student engaging in a sexual act. The witness identified Rubio as the woman in the video.
