Cruise Port Snorkeling - Shark and Ray Barrier Reef Snorkeling - Belize City

This was my second time in Belize, so I had to go snorkeling! We had heard it wasnt safe outside the port when we booked our cruise so we decided to book an excursion instead of snorkeling on our own. This was an amazing snorkeling day, Let me tell you a little about it We started off on a 40 minute boat ride to an Island called Caye Caulker. It was so beautiful. We ordered food so that it would be ready for us after the snorkeling trip. Then we got back in the boat and headed out to Shark and Ray alley. It was only a 5 minute ride from the dock, and we were ready to swim with the sharks. What an experience! The sharks were so docile, and I even had a Ray swim through my legs. After that we drove over to the inside of the barrier reef, it was so beautiful. Once we finished our snorkel it was time for so well needed rum punch and then head for lunch. The local quizine was so good, we had conch fritters and coconut curry chicken and rice, and I want more of it. We then were able to walk down to a place called the split to spend some time relaxing in the water. This is where the boat came and picked us up to then go feed the tarpons. In my opinion, everyone who loves to snorkel, beginners and advanced, can enjoy snorkeling in Snorkeling in Belize
