Microplastics are known to be contaminants of the ocean, yet very little is known about their possible effects. Despite their small size, they are considered to be "persistent plastic debris as a major form of ocean pollution" (Laist). Understanding their history, future trends, and challenges can help researchers and developers come up with new ideas to help capture these microplastics. Few researchers are starting their experimental phases for these solutions. Vicky is a junior at ASBGV. She is a pro at diving!
