So recently I remember the backlash and controversy that occurred when Anna Diop was casted as Starfire. The #notmystarfire was fresh on my mind and I decided to finally take a look at the hashtag and I was shocked. The utter racism and anti black tweets from supposed fans made me sick. I couldn’t imagine what Anna was going through when this all occurred. So I decided to talk about black coded characters as throughout the hashtag and threads were people defending the casting decision.
