📑Additional info below 📑 How do I plant a grapevine in my back yard? Includes a quick look at progress 4 months later in my backyard garden. Flame Seedless and Crimson Seedless are the 2 red grape varieties I plant here at home. You will see the soil, compost and fertilizer I use and the same method can be for bare rooted grapes or potted grapes. * The grape vines are guided along wire that I have set at 3 levels between 2 metal posts . * Each vine is planted 10 feet apart. * If you can, have posts about 4 feet out from the plant either side to help support the wire that will be under the weight of the growing fruit. * The wire runs almost North/South so the vines get sun all day, as it rises and passes overhead and sets.
