The finest anime crossover that a few people didn't catch. Well, this is an interesting piece of Helen's her-story, with comedian ensemble Cheech and Chong playing the Mating Game with a generic male character to compete for her. In this excerpt from the Helen Reddy Show, she demonstrates her comical timing and skills as a simultaneous host/actor (before the Pete's Dragon fame) and she does it quite well - even more professional when you explore her television appearances with Carol Burnett and so forth. Some people said that she doesn't take jokes well - I defy that myth. I figured she must've had a very different sense of humour which may differ from the other Americans of her time, given her upbringing as a child of the Australian travelling theatrical family. With respect to the copyright owner, the watermark was kept, which is attributed to RetroVideo.com or whoever has the videotapes to the show. If you're reading this - please release the Helen Reddy Show's whole episodes before the tapes get murky and oxidised. A bio-film about her is just out now in selected theatres and now people are finding interest in her; love her or not, they deserve the same attention as Carol Burnett's and Flip Wilson's.
