MILFORD SOUND DAY TOUR FROM QUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND - Fiordland National Park with GreatSights (4K)

This Day Trip to Milford Sound was one of the main reasons I did this 2 day trip from Sydney to Queenstown, NZ. I had been to Milford Sound a few times previously, but the most recent visit was roughly 18-20 years ago. Waking up to 12cm (4in) of fresh snow was great for someone who likes the harsh Winter environment, but it also meant there was a risk that the road to Milford Sound would be closed... which it was, only opening at Noon (which is just prior to the time we arrived at Homer Tunnel). The Day Tour was purchased through GreatSights NZ, leaving Queenstown at 7:20am, arriving back at 8:00pm. Along the way there were half a dozen stops, including an extended Breakfast/Morning Tea break at Te Anau. The huge windows, and panoramic glass roof (once the snow cleared) meant amazing views from all seats, and from both sides of the bus. The cruise of Milford Sound was breathtaking, I will let the video do the talking. There are a few minutes of footage where I needed to remove up to 90% of the noise as the wind was insane, other parts, there is only so much editing that can be done to remove most of it, whilst still leaving the sounds of nature and the waterfalls also have some impact. Whilst it is a very long day, not having to worry about driving, and the higher costs involved to rent a car, refuel, etc etc I can highly recommend doing one of these tours.
