Today on our Gooseneck Flatbed Utility Trailer, well be installing the Optronics Right Angle 3-Wire Pigtail for Sealed Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Lights, part number A47PB. Now youll see heres what our pigtail looks like. The white wire with the ring terminals the ground, the red wire is for the stop and turn signal and the black wire is for the running light circuit. Now, because we have 2 taillights right next to each other, were going to go ahead and tie two 3-wire pigtails together, so well be connecting both reds together and both blacks together using a heat shrink style butt connector. The butt connector part number well be using is DW05744-10. Now well go ahead and connect both of our red wires, as well as the black wires using the heat shrinkable butt connector. Well then be connecting the green wire with the red wires. Since theres an extra side marker light just outside where these 2 taillights are, were going to go ahead and tie an extra brown wire or running light circuit wire in when we make our connection for the running light circuit. So, well be adding an extra brown wire in where we tie into our 2 black wires. Well go ahead and take our brown wire, which is a running light circuit, after weve added the additional piece of wire in to tie in our side marker light, well go ahead and connect these 2 to the black wires, again using that butt connector. Once the connections are made, we use our heat gun and seal up the butt connectors. Once theyve cooled a little, well go ahead and wrap them in some electrical tape, just for a little extra protection. Then well need to take both of the white wires with the ring terminal on it as these are the grounds. Well go ahead and take a self-tapping screw and attach it to our trailer. Now, because of the thickness of metal on our trailer, were going to go ahead and put the screw in first to get a hole in the trailer. Once our holes there, well back it out and then well put it on both of the ring terminals and then snug it down, so that the white wires are grounded to the trailer. Now, for test purposes, well go ahead and take a stop, turn and tail light that matches our plug. Well plug it in and then well test our running lights, as well as the stop and turn signal. As you can see here, our running lights are functioning properly, as well as the stop and turn and thats all there is to it for wiring up the Optronics Right Angle 3-Wire Pigtail for Sealed Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Lights, part number A47PB on our gooseneck flatbed utility trailer. .
