As soon as I heard this song, like all Porter songs, I fell in love. Immediately I had the vision to make an anime op version. I started with dissecting the original and a rough “storyboard”, which surprisingly is the process that usually takes the longest. Then I did instrumentals and vocals, which brought me back to my band days and how much I love pop punk! I loved doing motion capture because the technology allows me to be on stages I could never dream of. I thrive doing stages and animations because it brings everything closer to reality. It was my first time asking someone to mix & master. It was a whole learning process on how to communicate creative and abstract ideas with someone. Andddd in between, there are hours of just waiting for renders, researching for technical stuff, and learning new tools and features. I know I am “supposed” to make these as fast as I can after the original is released to be chosen by the algorithm God, but I’ve come to accept that bringing visions like this takes time. I walked away from my corp job because I wanted to suffer for what I love. I do this because it is my passion and because I love entertaining you; including the painful and boring bits. I feel appreciative of the people who create these tools and technology that allow an individual like me to create something like this at home alone. I am SO grateful for those who support me in this process, you know who you are! I have so much to learn and I def want to improve my process. But this is only the beginning and I will cherish every moment!
