In 1958, Columbia Pictures launched its own record label , Colpix. Its first release #201 was RUFF AND REDDY'S ADVENTURES IN OUTER SPACE, using the original Master Tape voice recordings for the television cartoons. Instead of the licensed Capital Hi-Q music cues heard in the series, this record used an organ. An effort was made to enhance the soundtrack with additional effects for greater dimension. In the process, the 13 episodes have been joined together for a 38 minute show that retains all of the fun an wit of the original television show. Every effort was made to try to color balance and fix flaws in the film source. And with the recent interest in Hanna-Barbera history, the Munimula serial is most important in this history since it was the beginning of what became the Hanna-Barbera empire.
