Bangladesh Navy Frigate Project: Bangladesh Navy’s ‘High Performance Frigate Program’ got its final momentum! Three contenders topping the list with their proposals! These are China with Type-054A FFG, Italy with Bergamini-class multirole FFG and Turkey with their newly launched Istanbul-class multirole frigates (known as I-Class frigate too)! This $2.5 billion warship program is known as the “Bangladesh Navy Frigate Program”! Chittagong Dry Dock Ltd. will build 6 multirole frigates for the BD Navy with foreign technical collaboration. Hence, the winner shall transfer some of the key technologies to Bangladesh to start building the ship! Currently Italy, China and Turkey are the prime competitors in the program.
