Cherries: from tree to jam!

This is a longer video than usual, but cherry jam-making is quite the process! I should be out with a ladder picking cherries off our tall tree before the heat kicks in...but they really aren't that many that are ready yet. So here is my cherry jam video. The last time I made cherry jam was in 2017! Before I even started this channel. I'm sure I still have a few jars of that on the bottom of the freezer. :) And they'll still be good. I mean, jam is just fruit-flavored sugar, right? That tiny tree (I found out that the Carmine is a cross between a European bush cherry and a sour cherry tree) yielded 5 pints of pie filling and 5 half-pints of jam. If we had started watering it earlier, the cherries would have been larger and the yields better... #jammaking #cherryjam #cherries
