I've replaced a 5.2kwh Givenergy AC3K battery system with a Huawei Sun2000 Hybrid inverter and Lunar2000 5kwh battery system. The Huawei system with its own optimisers offers a unique opportunity to optimise systems with any shading impact without needing optimisers on every panel. The Huawei monitoring system is functional but not ideal, s is the case with many systems but it definitely has potential for improvement. On the down side I'm struggling to gain user control of timers to charge from the grid but on the plus side the efficiency of the battery ramping up and down and balancing to zero grid use is very good. The Huawei system is a fast reacting accurate system. Interestingly the monitoring system is showing highly accurate export values whilst import values are shown lower than reality. This is a trend with monitoring systems. Is it a con making the battery system look better than it really is or is it an inherent issue with the method of monitoring? I honestly don't know and would even wonder if reactive power isn't partly to blame for the inaccuracies. Forgot to say on camera that the huawei charges up at 3kw max and discharges at 2.5kw max, slightly better than Givenergy at 2.4kw/2.8kw. Obviously withe 10kwh battery rates would be higher still. The battery size of 5kwh limits performance. In summary, Hybrid systems aren't for me with multiple solar arrays but as a system I'm quite impressed with this Huawei solution.
