This video is intended to guide a user through the shaft alignment process for a typical mid engine, direct drive tournament Ski Boat. Vee-Drive ski boats require additional steps and instruction. All Boat and Engine manufacturers recommend checking coupling alignment annually, and adjusted as needed. NOTE: This video assumes that your boats strut is in good condition, a twisted, bent, improper factory strut installation will cause pre-mature bearing wear, and make alignment very difficult. If your shaft does not want to position itself in the center of the shaft log while holding the "heavy-end" up to compensate for the weight of the un-supported coupling end, you will need to address a strut problem.
