Albert Einstein famously said, “Compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it. He who doesn’t, pays it”. In this video I’m going to share a one-stock approach to dividend investing that when done correctly, can earn you $100,000 per year in dividends and up to a $1m portfolio. If you aren’t familiar with Dividends, it’s money paid directly to investors out of the profit a company makes. This is OUTSIDE of the growth of the stock price. So anytime we buy a new share of stock in a dividend paying company, we are essentially giving ourselves a raise. You start this process early enough, you’ll engage the 8th wonder of the world which is the compound interest phenomenon. It’s a snowball that keeps on growing. And, If you are rolling a snowball like these two kids just imagine your portfolio value and dividend income when you turn 30….holy crap. But even if you’re already in your 30s….or a boomer…or whatever, it is NEVER too late to start the snowball but you have to START NOW. Don’t wait or you’ll miss out on compounding. First I’ll share the basic compound interest view of turning your money into more money. Then you gotta stay tuned because I’m going to do a deep dive of how dividends accelerate compound interest.
