The Eastwood Guitars Black Widow is a loving homage to the legendary Acoustic Black Widow, an ultra-rare guitar used by Jimi Hendrix, among others. This model was built by several different manufacturers for Acoustic Control Corp. over its short lifespan, including Semie Moseley of Mosrite fame, and Eastwood's version takes this legacy into account while offering some modern updates. It features a chambered mahogany body with Mosrite-inspired German carve, a modern C-shaped set maple neck, 24-fret rosewood fretboard with zero fret, 25.5" scale length, and a hot pair of P90s with a three-way toggle switch. Its feature set makes it a natural choice for drop tunings and heavy fuzz riffs. In this video, I take the Black Widow for a spin in a full band context, then I run through the features and functions unaccompanied so you can hear what's happening with this deadly beauty.
