The draw has happened as well, but this video is about how those 29 teams made it through to Qatar and survived a gauntlet that such teams as Italy, Nigeria, and Sweden couldn’t. No matter who you are in the world, it’s never easy to make the world cup. The best thing about this World Cup qualifying window is that there were playoffs all over the place. The drama for Italy, Nigeria, Portugal, and Algeria with their world cup fates on the line. Not to mention the Solomon Islands was still alive going into this window and you might not have known that. South American qualifying was a mess, CONCACAF had 0 teams clinched in the world cup so Mexico, Canada, and the USA had some nervous days ahead too.
