Lighting design part-02 | Lighting Design DIALux is a 3D graphics software developed and sold by DIAL GmbH in Lüdenscheid for light planning in indoor and outdoor areas. Numerous manufacturers of lamps and luminaires offer plug-ins for their products that make the radiation characteristics available in Dialux. The POV-Ray raytracer can be used to render 3D models created with Dialux. Dialux supports, among other things, the lighting planning of sports facilities or the planning of emergency lighting in accordance with DIN EN 1838. The newer versions also allow energy assessments in accordance with DIN V 18599 and EN 15193 to be carried out, as required for energy certificates. For example Porumb et al. show, Dialux can also be used for planning tasks such as lighting the optimal illumination of works of art in a gallery.
