Nantahala Lake, NC (DJI Mavic Pro Footage) South of the Great Smoky Mountains - Beautiful Lake!

Nantahala Lake is a beautiful lake in Western North Carolina and the supply source to one of the Nation's top rafting and kayaking destinations - the Nantahala River. Nantahala is a cherokee word that means " Land of the Noonday Sun". The lake is located south of the Great Smoky Mountains and less than 30 minutes away from Franklin, NC. This beautiful 1,605 acre lake was built in 1942 and is being regulated and maintained by Duke Power. The lake is surrounded and is located 3,000 feet within the Nantahala National Forest. As you can see in the video - there is not much development around the lake. The lake does have 42 miles of shoreline and offers recreational opportunities like boating, swimming, and skiing. The very clear lake offers a lot to people who love to fish. Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, trout, catfish, and many kinds of small fish are in the lake. Nantahala Lake is considered by many to be in the top 10 Lakes in North Carolina. Have been wanting to fly this lake for awhile - i believe you can understand why now.
