Fish may come up on the surface film of water due to many causes. It is normal for taking feed and movement ; but the other causes are due to abnormal situation. Fish may generally come on water at mid night or after mid night due in abnormal situation. The causes may be as; -Excess of CO2 & deficiency of oxygen; in such a condition; 200 gm of quick lime per decimal in 5-6 feet depth can be applied. Then the diluted CO2 is in the form of carbonic acid and being reacted with lime where firstly calcium bi-carbonate and then calcium carbonate is formed and precipited in the bottom of pond and makes the water free from carbon dioxide. Here the inter molecular space of water become free. -Photosynthesis is not occuring due to cloudy day or lack of nutrition/manure in the pond. -Excess of feeding; limitation of feeding by decreasing may reduce it. -Excess of manuring or fertilizing; -Excess of zooplankton or increased size of zooplankton; -Ammonia toxicity; can be treated with edible salt, TSP, molasses or ash; -Hydrogen sulphide gas, can be removed by agitation or aeration of pond water.
