Old F40T12 fluorescent light conversion to LED light tube. Going from 40 Watts per bulb to 22 Watts per tube to cut energy consumption in half and eliminate the ballast as a potential point of failure and energy waste. Switching from non-shunted T-12 tombstones to shunted T-8 tombstones so I can use double-ended LED tubes. Going from 2325 lumens per bulb to 2900 lumens per tube (for 25% more light in my garage). Materials: LED Tubes = Double-Ended, 22W, 2900 Lumens, 6500K color, CRI 83 with 50,000 hour life expectancy (from LEDRadiant.com) Tombstones = T8 Shunted tombstones Leviton #23351 (from iLighting.com) TFN solid 18AWG 600V fixture wire – One roll of black wire and one roll of white wire (from NationalElectricUSA.com) Half inch Snap-In Bushing (10-Pack) #27251 (Home Depot) Time: 20-minutes per fixture x 6 in my garage = 2 hours total.
