In today's adventure, I wanted something a little more difficult and out of the normal tourist trail so when I heard about the French Ridge Track I knew that this was the one I wanted to challenge myself with. Apart from that, I felt like there wasn't enough information out there that gave a good idea on what it even looked like and if it was worth it for those on limited time. So here it is, an informational video with tips on the French Ridge Hut Track via the Matukituki valley track. Hike is 17km one way using the Matukituki valley track that connects to the French Ridge Track at the pearl flats. The hut sits at 4,500 feet and cost per night is $25 NZD per person per night. This is paid at the Mt Aspiring Hut on the way to the French Ridge Hut.
