Remnants of the TONOPAH & GOLDFIELD RAILROAD, Goldfield Cemetery & More! | Seeking Seldom Seen Slim

Back on the road seeking Seldom Seen Slim! We now travel to Goldfield, Nevada where we wander the streets, get up close to old Tonopah & Goldfield Railroad relics, try not to get in a fight at Nevada's oldest saloon & visit the Goldfield Cemetery. All to find out... "Has Anyone Seen Slim?" We made the drive from Tonopah, Nevada to Goldfield still seeking evidence of Seldom Seen Slim in the order that these boom towns sprang up. Upon arriving in Goldfield, Nevada we were greeted by art and old relics of its history everywhere. It truly has a lot of character tucked away everywhere you look! We walked along checking out sites where hotels, bank buildings, firehouses, bottle houses, and saloons once stood. One, in particular, was the remaining arch of the old Sideboard Saloon - a place where Whyatt and Virgil Earp were reported to hang out and up to 80 men tended the bar as it was so long. No trip is complete without checking out the old Goldfield High School. This amazing building has slowly been undergoing a restoration project. It's still a little creepy though! Goldfield didn't get as big as it was without help from railroads connecting it to the rest of the country. The Tonopah & Goldfield Railroad was the main line that provided materials and travel to residents. While checking out the town, we made a stop by some old original boxcars from the Tonopah & Goldfield Railroad line. We even came across a lavish old passenger car that might have been from the same line. It was truly a sight to see! But don't forget about the original track (the ONLY remaining track!) from that line up in Tonopah! After getting a little thirsty we stopped into the old Sante Fe Saloon - in operation since 1905! We might have looked a little funny with our cameras heading into such a place but it was a risk we were willing to take. Thankfully we were welcomed and the place was really awesome with plenty of historic items in every corner. Last but not least we stopped by the Goldfield Cemetery where some stories of mourning mothers, gravesite tragedies, and heartbroken women came alive.
