WOW Diner & El Ranchero Café – Two places we wanted to visit, but hey, road trips always have surprises! Grants Drive-In Sign & Motels – Snap a photo with this retro sign and explore the once-thriving motels of Grants, a town shaped by its mining past. Rio Puerco Bridge – Take a walk on this historic 1930s Route 66 bridge that’s still standing strong. El Vado Motel (Albuquerque) – Stay at one of the few original 1930s motels still in operation, now beautifully restored. Dog House (Breaking Bad) – Breaking Bad fans, we stopped by the iconic Dog House! Musical Highway – Hear “America the Beautiful” as we drive across this special stretch of road. Blue Swallow Inn (Tucumcari) – Experience the magic of Route 66’s neon at this lovingly restored, vintage motel. From the neon lights of Tucumcari to the scenic byways of the Old Route 66, New Mexico offers so much charm, history, and fun!
