IL 2 Sturmovik His Majesty's Griffon's "Final Effort" 4K

Half a kill laddie - No maps, no stats and no idle chit chat - just action Mission 10 of the scripted campaign "His Majesty's Griffon's." The final one of this campaign. Here it is, the final mission of one of my favourite campaigns in the IL 2 catalogue (A free campaign at that). It was fantastic fun to fly in the Spitfire Mk.XIV and I'm already missing her, so I'll have to make sure to get a career started so I can fly some more hours to get my fix. This mission was the standard fare of flying on patrol, on the lookout for enemy aircraft. Well, we certainly did come across some and I got to fill my boots with no lesser opponent than the vaunted Me 262. Our flight and a flight of friendly Typhoon's engaged eight of the jet fighters who were out on a ground attack mission, loaded with bombs. The action was brief but catastrophic for the German pilots, I counted only two making it back to base, four of them brought down by myself. It was the only action we were to see, but as the video would have been rather short if I'd just captured that action, I've included some footage of the jets returning to base and some not quite making it and also some action from another clash that we didn't take part in. So I really hope you enjoy the coverage. I'll be continuing the Battle of Normandy "Oeverlord" campaign videos for the moment and will likely release a video tomorrow from that, as I have a number ready to go. I've also got a slightly different video I'm going to release alongside this one, which is more of a spectator type video, in which I observed a very short air battle from ground level, it's just a bit of fun to watch and I do like watching clashes from ground level, reminds me of those stories from people watching the action in the skies during WW2. Anyway, as always, thanks for stopping by and especially thanks to you subscribers old and new, it's been good to see the number rise steadily over the past few weeks, I really do appreciate you. I'll be posting a screenshot of the final tally results for this campaign on the community page if anyone's interested in seeing that, even though it fly's in the face of my mantra "No Stats" 😜 Cheers
