Montreal seniors furious after retirement home landlord installs high-tech convenience store

The conflict between senior citizens at a Montreal retirement home and their landlord continued on Friday, as the tenants insisted the building's owner is once again attempting to take measures to force them out. A new convenience store, Aisle 24, recently opened in the building as part of a chain of cashierless 24-hour grocery store outlets. Some of the residents argue that the high-tech system is making life difficult for the seniors who live in the private residence. Two years ago, the residents took the building owner to court over the cancellation of services, after the owner purchased the property. But the residents say they're not going anywhere, as the battle of senior tenants versus their landlord continues. Global’s Phil Carpenter explains.
