Their cinematographic music borrows arrangements from flamenco to jazz, going through progressive tones to post-rock accents. With Apparence (Appearance), [kataplismik] takes you to a perpetual dual between carnal harmonies and Elysian melodies, presenting a melancholic epopee sprinkled with hope. For this entirely acoustic production, the duo inaugurates an undefined story, a ballet between two guitars where the musicians’ precision and technique highlight their clear-cut artistically synergy. The listeners will be touched by the songs sensibility, a strange mixture of reassuring and defiant sounds. Seducing tracks, such as the chaotic Spam, the welcoming Perdue (Lost), and yet the reflexive Apparance, the album title, counts with the collaboration of other instrumentalists. Accordion, brass instruments, transvers flute, piano and glockenspiel join the guitars, not as supporting characters, but as protagonists of six of the nine tunes of the album.
