Württemberg is a sparsely populated, rural region in southern Germany. The area is characterised by a gently rolling landscape, forested mountain ranges and numerous rivers and lakes. Due to its proximity to Lake Constance, the climate is particularly mild and suitable for fruit growing. He gave up his profession as a merchant to become a farmer. He now keeps 300 chickens in mobile chicken coops and has developed a special concept: The chicken sponsorship. The sponsors rent a chicken and pay the annual costs for keeping it, in return for which they get eggs and meat. Today they serve a Swabian speciality, green dumplings, an original form of Swabian ravioli. The green spring onions in the filling give them this name. Siegbert and his daughter Noemi roll out long sheets of dough with the pasta machine, Manuela puts the filling on top and rolls the dumplings. Once a month, the farm opens for the chicken sponsors. This time the Ravensburg kindergarten is invited. The children are to experience agriculture up close. For this, Siegbert's wife Manuela bakes a sunken apple pie - a Swabian family recipe that she still knows from her mother. The mobile chicken coops have to be moved regularly so that the chickens have fresh grass to peck at. Klaus has built a wooden house on the outskirts of Ravensburg, where he lives together with six fellow residents. They cook regularly in the shared apartment. Today, for the first time, there will be a brother rooster from Siegbert. The roosters are considered a delicacy. It will be accompanied by Swabian egg spaetzle and a sauce on watercress, which Klaus harvests in his own garden.
