Saxophone Repair Topic: Old-school Fix for Loose Conn Microtuner

Saxophone repairman Matt Stohrer of https://www.StohrerMusic.com is getting lazy, because this was originally a video for a customer and he basically just published it here as well with very little extra commentary. Anyhow, this is an example of a problem and simple old-school fix for Conn microtuners when they are getting clanky/wobbly but still are airtight. I have witnessed this repair many times on necks I had seen and had assumed the intent based on what I saw, but never heard about it or been taught about it and this was my first time doing it myself to confirm. It did indeed work very well and the client is happy. For some more context to the video, the problem upon inspection of the neck ended up being different than I expected based on our conversations (and different from the impression he was under after taking it to a few places to get looked at), I spent a bunch of time thinking about it and messing around before getting back to him, and this video was sent to the owner to share my thoughts so we could figure out a different way forward.
