The Neo-Soul music scene is characterised by incredible musical arrangements, stunning vocal performances and gospel infused groove playing. In this live performance, we pay homage to two of the genre’s most iconic vocalists, Jill Scott and Angie Stone. This performance was recorded live in November 2022 at the New Adelphi Theatre, Salford and features brilliant renditions by two of our female vocalists, Kayleigh O Neill and Stephanie P. These tracks were stitched together beautifully by the arranging skills of Paul Robinson and feature a disco infused rendition of I “Wish I Didn’t Miss You” by Angie Stone (which sampled The O ’Jay’s 1972 hit, “Back Stabbers”) and two staples in the Jill Scott collection, “Long Walk and Golden.” A collection of songs that were a joy to perform. #neosoul #jillscott #angiestone #livemusic #liveperformance #gospelmusic #golden #longwalk #wishididntmissyou
