Infernoid Zoodiac Deck Profile (April 2017) - Timonium Regionals

This Infernoid Zoodiac deck maximizes consistency and allows for multiple power plays! The goal of this deck was to have the highest probability of drawing and resolving Void Vanishment/Feast. I really think that this one of the best decks atm due to the versatility and power of Feast as well as having powerhouses in Onuncu and Devyaty. The Zoo engine gives the deck plays without having to rely on the graveyard as well as giving the deck another option for controlling the tempo of the game. This deck excels in managing Tempo and Card Advantage, but lacks when it comes to the Philosophy of Fire due to the level restriction on Infernoid summons. This can be overcome with careful planning, but it can be difficult to do a lot of damage. As for how the deck performed, I won every single match I won the die roll, and every game 3 I played except for 1 where I misplayed versus the eventual runner up, Matt Shapiro, who was playing 60 card Infernoid Zoodiacs with Lawnmowing/ That Grass Looks Greener. My other losses were to a friend playing Metalfoes who completely waxed me and to another Metalfoe player where I needed another Rank 4. Overall I finished high enough to get an invite, which is nice, but I know that if I had played better, I could've topped. As for matchups, I think this deck has fundamentally strong matchups due to the DD Crow effects of the monsters as well as the power of Onuncu, Devyaty, and Feast. Metalfoes are really the only difficult matchup because we have a very finite number of resources (the graveyard) while they can seemingly play for free due to them having the pendulum summon as well as Mithrillium to keep recycling their resources. The only way to consistently win is to use Devyaty to destroy their scales/counters while having other Infernoids to banish the Counters. However, that's easier said than done and requires a lot of resources. Nonetheless, I really enjoy this deck and believe that it's one of the better options this format. Give it a shot, and I hope you all enjoy it as well.
