The South Island of New Zealand is an incredibly scenic, stunning and beautiful place. We flew from Auckland to Christchurch, rented a car then did a big loop around the upper half of the South Island. This is the first of four vlogs from our latest NZ road trip. Our Airbnb was conveniently located just 5 minutes from Christchurch airport. A very clean, compact and cosy studio. Perfect for an overnight stay. Maurice was a warm and welcoming host. We ended up staying at the same accommodation for the final night of our trip too. We loved every single dish we ordered. Rangoon Ruby Address: 819 Colombo Street, Christchurch Central City, Christchurch 8013 Hours: Mon–Sat 5:30–9:30pm Sun Closed The next morning we travelled from Christchurch to Greymouth along the Great Alpine Highway and through Arthur's Pass. The Great Alpine Highway is a stretch of road that connects Christchurch to the west coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Along the way we stopped at the following places: 1. Castle Hill (Tip: when using Google Maps, enter "Kura Tawhiti Access Track" to get you to the carpark and start of the walking track) 2. Arthur's Pass Scenic Lookout 3. Devils Punchbowl Waterfall 4.
