I had the sincere pleasure of interviewing my colleague Amanda Marino of Integrate Autism Employment Advisors. Integrate helps companies identify, recruit, and retain neurodivergent employees. It was started by Marcia Scheiner in 2010. Marcia saw the need to support and advocate for her autistic son and other individuals to obtain full-time competitive employment. She saw that most organizations were focusing on support for the autistic individuals, but not the employers. Almost fifteen years later, Integrate Autism Employment Advisors partner with companies to help them become more neuroinclusive. Their approach includes an assessment of the company, education & training, recruitment, and support for hiring managers.
