Performing a Mustang oil change will preserve your engine and enhance its longevity over time. Oil nullifies acid, consumes water, dust and other contaminants. Oil can only absorb so much of these damaging particles until the oil is no longer able to absorb anything else. When the oil can no longer absorb these contaminants, that's when they start causing harm to your engine in the form of corrosion or other unsightly manifested issues. 5,000-miles is an intelligent baseline to use for changing your oil, but there are exceptions to this rule.
