Residing in Los Angeles, classically trained film, television and game composer Pinar Toprak has written many soundtracks, however, she is probably best known for scoring the Marvel superhero movie Captain Marvel as well as providing music for the massively popular vide game Fortnite. Deciding early on to pursue a career in film scoring, she soon turned to Cubase and became a Steinberg family member. And so it was only a question of time (or rather, a matter of taking a moment from her busy schedule) until we would interview Pinar at her LA studio. Here Pinar gave us insights into her composing techniques and talked about how the psychology of music has a strong impact on her artistic work.
