July In The Flower Garden | Tips For Leaving Your Flower Garden Mid Season

Growing Cut Flowers in Zone 8b, Scotland. As a flower farmer or a gardener with a lot of flowers growing taking a holiday right in the middle of the season can be a bit daunting. When I first started growing I found this really stressful especially as I would often have a wedding booked in for the first weekend I was back. Now it is getting easier and if you do a few key things before you go it is possible to go away, have a fantastic time and come back to a garden you can enjoy for the rest of the season. In this video I talk about 3 key things I do before summer holidays, what I do when I come back and what is flowering for me now in mid July. After a very dry June we have had endless rain in July and not very much sun so there has been a lot of growth but some of the flowers are yet to hit their stride.
