Écija is a city and municipality of Spain belonging to the province of Sevilla, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. This municipality is popularly known as the City of the Sun, the City of Towers and the Pan of Andalusia (due to its high temperatures, especially during the summer). It is considered one of the most important Historical Ensembles in Andalusia. Its economic development is reflected in the large number of religious and civil constructions between the 12th and 18th centuries. The 18th century is considered the "Ecija Golden Age", due to its economic and artistic wealth. Écija has industries in the agricultural sector, dedicated to different types of crops.
