Canyon Lake POA | 5 VIOLATIONS to Watch Out For! Today I'm going to give you a few of the most common POA violations that I typically see here in Canyon Lake. The first is regarding the landscaping. You need to know that no bare dirt is allowed on your landscaping here in Canyon Lake and that everything must be completely landscaped. Another very common violation is miscellaneous stored items. So what that means is that you might have a ladder or some gardening tools or bicycles or kayaks on the side of your house. The Canyon Lake POA is not going to want to see those there and they're going to ask that those be removed. Another common violation is un-permitted changes to your house. They're POA permits. So when you change the aesthetics of the property, just the looks of the home from the exterior, for most of these things you're going to need a permit for things like changing the paint color, adding hardscape like concrete walkways or mow curbing, things like that. If they do send you a violation letter, that's not necessarily going to hold up escrow and it's not going to prevent you from closing escrow on the sale of your home.
