I started off wanting to make a video showing how the new Blazer would perform in slippery conditions. However, after driving on a combination of wet roads, heavy slush, and hard packed snow, I realized this is going to turn into a rant regarding our perceptions of all wheel drive cars. You see, out on the main roads which were all heavily salted and cleared, the Blazer performed fine, zero issues with 100% traction. Which is what you should expect given that the road conditions were that of mild rainfall. However, the problems started to arrive when I reached the hard packed snow. Sure, eventually I could get moving without much issue, it was the stopping portion that gave me concern. Even traveling at an extremely low speed the blazer would slide a couple feet before coming to a complete stop, and this is the issue I want to talk about. All wheel drive does not mean all wheel stop. And consumers need to get it out of their head that they absolutely need an all-wheel drive car in the winter. #AllWheelDrive
