Catching Snakeheads Off of FRY BALLS!!! (UNREAL ACTION)

This has got to be one of the most fun times to go snakehead fishing in the entire season... It's fry ball time! Every year, snakeheads pair up and mate, creating thousands and thousands of baby snakeheads. They raise their young under heavy protection, keeping all the babies close together in a giant ball of fry. If something foreign enters the zone where the babies are being guarded, both parent snakeheads usually attack it viciously. Targeting fry balls can be one of the easiest ways to catch snakeheads at this point in the fishing season. On this particular trip, I got up long before the sun rose to meet up with my First State Legion of Anglers teammates Rodney and Adam at a spot in Delaware that was brand new to me. Delaware snakehead fishing has been good lately, so I was optimistic about this new spot. I didn't know what to expect here since it was my first time fishing the spot, but Rodney and Adam told me that there was a good number of snakeheads here. About 5 minutes into our fishing session, I spotted the first fry ball of the day, and the rest is history. Fishing these snakehead fry balls made for one heck of a morning on the water. If you want to see our group video, stay tuned on Adam's channel for all of his, Rodney's, and my catches from this day. ADAM'S CHANNEL:    / careagainfishing   RODNEY'S CHANNEL:    / @tightlinez302   IMPORTANT NOTE: While Snakeheads are a non-native species, biologists have discovered over the last few years that the damage they cause to the ecosystem is not nearly what was once expected. Many bodies of water containing these fish have successfully adapted to their presence. I encourage you to thoroughly research the data that is out their regarding snakeheads before you make an uninformed comment saying that we should have killed the fish. That being said, everyone is entitled to their opinion regarding these fish. We simply ask that your opinion be formed on actual data and research, not what you heard from a friend or read on facebook. The body of water that we fished already has a healthy population of snakeheads. Killing a few fish would do absolutely nothing in regards to eradicating the species from that body of water. Instead, you'd be wasting the life of a perfectly good gamefish. Here at Orange 22 Fishing, we encourage you to practice catch and release on all species of fish, including snakeheads. We will continue to do so, and we hope you will do the same as well. No matter your opinion on this topic, we do thank you for watching our video and supporting our channel! Tight lines, Dave and Matt
