The Lost Bookshop" is a magical story about finding oneself and searching for hidden book treasures. It takes place in two different times in 1921 and the present day and moves from London to Paris to Dublin. In 1921, Opaline, a young woman with a passion for books, faces the prospect of an unwelcome arranged marriage to a complete stranger commanded by her cold and wicked older brother. Rather than endure such an unsatisfying future, she runs away to Paris and later to Ireland and embarks on a career as a rare bookseller. Her story takes a tragic turn when her wicked brother finds out where she is. In a modern-day timeline, Martha has finally plucked up the courage to leave her abusive husband and finds employment as a housemaid to a mysterious lady who appears to have some strange habits. Next is Henry, a PhD student searching for an illusive lost manuscript by Emily Bronte and a bookshop with magical powers, last referenced in a letter written long ago by Opaline. As the story unfolds, Henry and Maratha go in search of the lost manuscript and the lost bookshop. As they try to solve the mystery of the missing book, they discover their own destiny along the way and realise they are no more the side characters, and their own stories are every bit as extraordinary as the ones found in the pages of their beloved books. We also realise that Martha, Henry, and Opaline are connected by invisible threads and share a connection to a special bookshop with magical powers.
