In this episode, we will discuss the issue of road planning in Nigeria. With countries around the world with much more drivers on the road than Nigeria has, why do we have such a unique issue with traffic and road accidents many of which are caused by issues which normally do not occur in other countries? The roads aren’t large enough, there aren’t enough lanes and roads in general, they are badly built, and there’s not good enough traffic management. To leave Lagos towards Ibadan there is only one road, and as one can imagine it becomes a battle as what would normally be an hour's journey can take up to 5 hours. How do we start prioritizing safer and bigger roads? How do we start properly mapping out the roads of every state so that they reduce traffic or potential accidents?
