Make an Image appear and act like a button in Access ~ DataPig

This video demonstrates how to have an image on your form and have it look and act like a button. By using the OnMouseUp and OnMouseDown events and by adjusting the special effect assigned to the image, the image appears and acts as a button. NOTE: In newer versions, Command Buttons have a Picture property, which might be a better way to use an image as a button since an image doesn't actually take the focus, which means that the BeforeUpdate and AfterUpdate event of the current control doesn't get triggered. This shows some neat effects by modifying SpecialEffect though! If you like the settings for the image better with the image control, another option, if you need focus to change, is to cover the image with a transparent command button. You can still use the MouseUp and MouseDown events to change the SpecialEffect (and other formatting), just they'd be triggered by the transparent command button on top instead. This video has been resurrected from an older Access tutorial series by DataPigTechnologies. Even though Access looks different now, the concepts and functionality persist. Thanks to owner, Mike Alexander, for making these videos available for presentation once again. Thanks also to Jack Drawbridge and John Clark for helping get these valuable lessons back online.
