The Rise of Kurdi. We salute Kurdikars for sacrificing everything then, to feed us water today. During the last 50 years, some 3,300 big dams have been constructed in India. For almost all countries of the world, dams have been an integral part of economic development. In addition to substantial adverse impacts on the physical environment, they can disrupt the lives and lifestyles of people living in the reservoir area and of those dependent on this area. And this is exactly what we got to see on wrinkled faces of Kurdi villagers, once the most prosperous village in Goa. We got an opportunity to stage our theatrical konkani drama कायचेकाय on 19 May 29019 at Shri. Someshwar Devasthan (श्री.सोमेश्वर देवस्थान, कुर्डी) Kurdi in front of nearly 4000 -5000 gathering, and thus begun the journey to explore Kurdi. We left the place with lots of memories to share and cherish before this village gets submerged again for next 10-11 months underwater! We thank each and everyone who have helped us to make this documentary come alive. We dedicate this work to all Kurdikars. We bow to thank you.
