Passion - Reach The Sky | Super rare AOR from 1989

The Fictive Story of the band fictional band Passion Passion is a legendary cultrated melodic rock band hailing from the vibrant New York area, paying tribute to the quintessential sounds of the late 1980s. Formed in 1985, Passion quickly made a name for themselves with their captivating melodies and polished production, becoming a staple in the AOR (Album-Oriented Rock) scene. Band Members: (see sleeve from left to right) Jake Mitchell – Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals Ryan Collins – Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals Ethan Brooks – Drums Mason Reed – Keyboards Johnny "Jax" Davis – Lead Vocals and Backing Vocals Passion burst onto the music scene with their debut mini-album in 1987, which garnered significant attention and buzz among rock enthusiasts. Their unique blend of well-produced keyboards and soaring guitar riffs caught the eye of Monarch Records, a label renowned for its dedication to melodic rock. Monarch Records signed Passion and enlisted the expertise of the renowned producer Tommy Larson, who was famous for crafting some of the most memorable melodic rock albums of the era. In 1989, Passion released their full-length album "Fashion By Passion" under Monarch Records. The album became a hit och the rockchart in Japan and sold much on import in Europe and achieved cult classic status. "Reach Our Sky", one of the standout tracks on "Fashion," showcased Johnny Davis's exceptional vocal range, earning him acclaim as one of the era's standout vocalists. Passion embarked on an ambitious tour across the United States, performing in smaller venues and serving as the opening act for established bands such as House of Lords, King Cobra, Beau Nasty, and Harem Scarem. With high hopes, Passion began working on their sophomore album slated for a 1991 release. However, the rise of grunge music swept across the United States, shifting musical trends and diminishing the popularity of melodic rock. Despite their dedicated fanbase and the critical acclaim of "Fashion," the band struggled to gain traction for their new material. Ultimately, the planned album never achieved widespread success, although it remains a cherished gem among fans. In the aftermath, Johnny "Jax" Davis attempted to launch a solo career, leveraging his powerful vocals and stage presence. Despite his efforts, the grunge movement overshadowed his endeavors, and his solo projects failed to make a significant impact. Passion's legacy, however, endures through their beloved tracks and the lasting influence they had on the melodic rock genre. #AOR #80sRock #MelodicRock #PassionFashion #RockMusic #CultClassic #MonarchRecords #ReachOurSky #80sMusic #RockBands #GuitarSolo #KeyboardRock #VintageRock #NewYorkRock #RetroRock #MusicHistory #RockLegends #ClassicRock #RocknRoll #BandStory
