These Amish Onion Patties are a great alternative to Onion Rings. They give you all of the flavor of Onion Rings, but are much easier to make. This Amish Onion Patty Recipe was recommended by Headchefmom Kendall Lawrence and I have to say that this Recipe exceeded my expectations. Next time you are looking for a quick snack give these Amish Onion Patties a try. Ingredients for Amish Onion Patties Recipe: * 3/4 Cup Flour * 1 Tbsp Sugar * 2 Tsp Baking Powder * 2 Tsp Salt (to taste) * 1 Tbsp Corn Meal * 3/4 Cup Milk * 2 1/2 medium onions finely diced * Canola oil or any high temp cooking oil Directions * Add all dry ingredients together and stir well * Then add milk and onions and mix again * Heat skillet with a thin layer of cooking oil * Scoop batter into skillet with a 1 tablespoon scoop. You can use a bigger scoop if you like * Cook until golden brown, then flip and cook until the other side is golden brown * Place on paper towls, broiler pan, or anything that will allow the oil to drain * Enjoy The sauce was something that I just threw together.
