How to Use Perle Cotton Thread vs Embroidery Floss | Pearl Cotton Thread Tips & Tricks

Perle Cotton Thread or Pearl Cotton Thread is used in embroidery, tatting, crochet, punch needle, quilting, as well as other arts. Like the common known Embroidery Floss, Perle Cotton is sold by color, or even variegated. Both are used in hand sewing, and are very similar. But, there are some differences as well that should be noted. Overall, they can be used interchangeably, but there are some intended uses for Perle Cotton. Perle Cotton is a mercerized thread that has been put through a chemical process to be strong and durable. Therefore, it is good for functional artwork, or pieces that will be laundered or handled. Perle Cotton is sold by the size or thickness of the thread. It comes in 4 readily available sizes 3, 5, 8, 12 - with 3 being the thickest and 12 the most delicate. Perle Cotton thread in sizes 3 & 5 is sold in skeins and sizes 8 & 12 come in balls. Whereas Embroidery Floss is made up of 6 strands that are made to be separated, if desired, Perle Cotton is not made to be separated, hence the various sizes. In the video, I created a chart to show the number of embroidery floss strands that compare to the sizes of Perle thread. ► SUBSCRIBE ► https://bit.ly/2RS2fdi 😚💓 Thank You So Much for Watching! 😚💓 If you enjoy the video, please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE! 💓 #TextileArt #FabricArt #HandSewing #embroidery_stitch #fabric_embellishment #embroideryfloss #embroidery ------------------------------------ ► YOU MAY ALSO LIKE: ✅ Slow Stitching: Autumn Leaf Sampler    • Slow Stitching: Autumn Leaf Sampler |...   ✅Slow Stitching: Stitch a Fabric Rainbow    • Slow Stitching: Stitch a Fabric Rainb...   ✅Faux Couching Stitch: Using 5 Straight Stitches    • Faux Couching Stitch: Using 5 Straigh...   ✅How to Make a Stitched Spiral Using the Couching Stitch    • How to Make a Stitched Spiral Using t...   ✅ Slow Stitching: Stitching a Circular Blanket Stitch    • Stitching a Circular Blanket Stitch |...   ✅ Slow Stitching: Rolled Fabric Beads    • Slow Stitching Rolled Fabric Beads | ...   ✅ Slow Stitching Tutorial: How to Slow Stitch for Beginners    • Slow Stitching Tutorial | How to Do S...   ------------------------------------ ►► JOIN ME ON SKILLSHARE ► https://www.skillshare.com/profile/Da... ______________________ ► REACH OUT TO ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA ✅ Instagram - www.instagram.com/danielamellenartist ✅ Website: www.danielamellen.com ✅ RedBubble: bellamells #Learn_how_to_Stitching #Stitch_With_Me #Slow_Stitching_Squares #fabric_embellishment #Stitching_tutorial #Slow_Stitching_Making_Embellishments_from_Fabric_Scraps #Fabric_scraps_projects #stitchingandcutting #stitchingthreadsart #stitchingvideos #stitchingbeginnershub #stitchingprojectsforbeginners #stitchingforbeginners #stitchingathome #stitchingbyhand #stitchingclass #stitchingclasses #stitchingchannelforbeginners #stitchingclassforbeginners #stitchingchannel #stitchingcourse #stitchingclassforbegginners #stitchingclassodia #stitchingdiy #stitchingfor #stitchingpages i #stitchinghomedecordiyeasy #stitchingideas #stitchingitems #stitchingmadeeasy
