Pity Poor Alfie We got into Sheffield early afternoon & headed straight to the venue. Spoke to one of the roadies who advised PW was in a "right mood." Apparently they had a 5 a side and his team got beat lol. Later in the afternoon we found an open door and made our way in hoping to catch the soundcheck. Wasn't in for long before a moody Kenny Wheeler shown us the door. A quick walk around the venue and we found another open door, be rude not to, this time it lead us into the bar area, wasn't in 5 mins before a raging Kenny was charging at us shouting rather rude expletives lol. We didn't hang about and took off like scalded cats. Come door time we had to queue for ages as they didn't open them till gone 8pm. As we trolled through it was Mr Wheeler who was on ticket duty. He looked up at us and you could see the cogs working, wondering how he knew us....... tense moments indeed, he just grunted and let us through.. A decent recording and fond memories. Nice one Baz.
