Lisa's Room: A Dream, A One Act Opera

The opera is based on a dream. In her dream, Lisa awakens to find two Dolls (life-size) volleying gibberish images at each other. As she listens it is like a radio station coming in tune, and she begins to understand what they are saying and wants to join in the game which is slightly competitive. Scenes with Lisa and the Dolls are interspersed with scenes of Lisa and her Father—more stressful and less fanciful; territorial issues abound. Lisa is finally presented with a mentor, in the form of a Drum Majorette—a gift from the Dolls. This figure is an inspiration to her and Lisa begins to find her own purpose.
