The Loyalty Of Lady Parr - The INCREDIBLE Lady In Waiting To Catherine Of Aragon

The Loyalty Of Lady Parr - The INCREDIBLE Lady In Waiting To Catherine of Aragon Today Catherine Parr is regarded as Henry VIII’s sixth wife, and the lucky one who managed to outlive the King. She was regarded as a very learned woman, and a woman of good principles and intelligence. During her time as the Queen of England, she became the first consort to even publish her own book, but she was rather lucky. If Henry had lived longer, then it’s possible that Catherine Parr could have found herself in a significant degree of trouble. Catherine was known as a staunch Protestant, and her religious beliefs were looked upon with suspicion by anti protestant officials, who deemed her to have been too radical. She came under investigation because of this, and an arrest warrant was drawn up for her and rumours plagued court also that at the time Henry VIII was infatuated with Catherine’s close friend Katherine Willoughby, the Duchess of Suffolk. However Catherine managed to escape the charges, and despite arguing with the King about religion, it was believed she did this to take the King’s mind off his failing and ill health. Catherine did seem like a very headstrong and gifted woman in the court of Henry VIII, and it was noted how she developed a passion for learning. But who did she get this from? We know so much about Henry VIII’s Queens, but what about the women who birthed them, and raised them?
